If you find yourself being led on by a girl, you're not alone. This is a common strategy employed by women to make you feel like you have to work harder to win their affections. So it happens that while men believe they are on their way to seduce women, the ladies are still hanging around for very different reasons.

Now, a woman leading you on is different from phone flaking or the classic "bad phone number." She will find time to go out with you and will seem to enjoy your outings. However, as time progresses you will find that she always brings her friends with her, or only seems to stick around just long enough to tell you about her day, and then she's gone.

This is when you know you've entered the dreaded friend zone. She has stopped seeing you like a man (or perhaps she never has). At this point you exist only to give her emotional validation. Because she is aware of your desire to be more than a friend, she will validate your feelings just enough to make it seem like she wants the same thing. Her main goal, however, is to use you to feel good about herself, to feel wanted and attractive. Once this has happened you have almost no chance of getting her into bed.

If you find yourself in this situation it's important to understand that it's better if you just move on. Many guys think they might have a chance and will continue to text and call. If they press harder, the woman will often use the strategy of making you "try harder." Eventually they will simply stop seeing you and you will be left with nothing, despite all the effort you put into the relationship. The truth is, if a girl isn't into you, just move on.
